New Research into Migrant Workers in the UK Food & Drink Manufacturing Industry

Monday 14 April

Migrant workers are an important section of the workforce and highly valued by industry employers across the UK. Reliable, up-to-date and detailed information on the employment of migrant workers is needed to inform the food and drink industry and enable employers to maximise the opportunities this group of workers can continue to bring the sector.

Improve Ltd., the Sector Skills Council for Food and Drink Manufacturing and Processing, will be carrying out research to explore the use of migrant workers, what skills and qualifications they hold, what training they have received, and what issues employers face when employing migrant workers.

The research will begin in late-April and findings will be available in July 2008. For further information on the project, please contact research@improveltd.co.uk
